1. Who we are

Shortsome ("we", "us", "our") operates the website shortsome.in and the Shortsome platform. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.

2. Information we collect

  • Phone number — provided during sign-up via WhatsApp OTP. Used for authentication and order-related notifications.
  • Display name — optionally set in your account settings.
  • YouTube URLs — the video links you submit for processing. We download video data solely to generate your shorts.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details. We receive your Razorpay order ID, payment ID, and transaction status.
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, browser type, IP address, and session timestamps. Collected automatically for service improvement.

3. How we use your information

  • To authenticate your identity and maintain your session.
  • To process your video projects and deliver rendered shorts.
  • To process payments and maintain credit balance records.
  • To send transactional notifications (e.g. render completion) via WhatsApp.
  • To monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the platform.

4. Payment processing

All payments are handled by Razorpay Software Private Ltd. When you make a purchase, you are subject to Razorpay's terms and privacy policy available at razorpay.com/privacy. We do not have access to your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials.

5. YouTube connection and uploads

Shortsome uses YouTube API Services only after you connect a channel through Google OAuth. Through the youtube.readonly permission, we access only the selected channel ID and title so that we can identify and display the exact upload destination. We do not use this permission to read your videos, playlists, comments, subscriptions, analytics, or activity. Through the youtube.upload permission, we upload only a completed Shortsome render that you explicitly choose. Before each upload, we show the destination channel, title, description, audience setting, and private visibility. Shortsome does not create a YouTube video without your explicit Upload action.

We store the selected channel ID and title, an OAuth refresh token encrypted at rest, and local records of uploads initiated through Shortsome, including their status, YouTube video ID, and link. Google user data is sent only between Shortsome and Google/YouTube API Services as necessary to identify the selected channel, refresh authorization, and perform the upload you requested. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers or unrelated third parties. OAuth and upload traffic is protected in transit using HTTPS, stored credentials are encrypted, access is restricted to the authenticated account owner, and tokens and provider response bodies are excluded from application logs and user-facing errors.

YouTube connection data is retained while your channel remains connected. You can revoke access using Disconnect YouTube in Settings, through your Google Account permissions, or by requesting account deletion. Disconnecting revokes access on a best-effort basis and deletes the encrypted token, channel details, and local YouTube upload history from Shortsome. It does not delete local renders or videos already stored by YouTube; manage those videos in YouTube Studio.

This integration is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Shortsome's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

6. Data retention

Account data (phone number, credits, transaction history) is retained for as long as your account is active. Video files and rendered shorts are stored on our servers for up to 30 days after creation and may be deleted thereafter. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Razorpay — for payment processing.
  • Google Cloud Platform — for transcription (Cloud Speech-to-Text) and video rendering infrastructure.
  • Google and YouTube API Services — to identify the channel you selected, maintain the authorization you granted, and upload a private video only when you explicitly request it.
  • Law enforcement — only when required by applicable law.

8. Cookies

We use a session cookie (editai_session) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
